How has the way we work changed in the last two decades? Commercialisation of email in 1996-97, Google starting in 1998, Apple release the first iPhone in 2007, commercialising the smartphone, Linkedin started in 2003, Facebook started in 2004 , Twitter in 2006, first iPad in 2010 and Snapchat in 2011, plus a range of platforms that are no longer with us, such as My Space. Technology is driving the speed and rate of change.

This has changed the way we work, where we work and the type of furniture that have had to be provided for staff in the workplace, plus it’s been the driver for the commercialisation of other services such as W-Fi, smaller and more powerful laptops and tablets. Mobility is key.

Let’s not forget also the evolution of Electronic Document Management System, or now known as a Content Management Systems. These systems have evolved over the same period from being repositories for hard records to being true digital solutions, incorporating workflow functions and mobility have been major game changes.
